Podcasts are having a bit of a moment lately. Walk anywhere for five minutes and you will see someone with earphones in. Are they listening to the latest Justin Timberlake album? Perhaps. But more likely, they are listening to their favorite podcast. With the ability to choose from such a wealth of information, why not choose positive, upbeat material that will set you up with a more positive outlook on life? The following four are well-received, positive podcasts to add to your playlist.
By 2018, you have most likely listened to a TED talk. Now, TED is podcasting. Each episode of this podcast is based on the theme inspired by talks from TED conclaves. These topics are wide-ranging, unexpected and most importantly, always thought-provoking. Every week host Guy Raz combines several lectures in an attempt to shed light on subjects such as the future of millennials, each individual’s search for happiness and how to cultivate greater creativity.
According to Epic Life Vibes, when musician/entrepreneur Brandon Beachum turned 40, he looked back at the miles of bumpy road he had traveled and decided to start over as if he were 20 again. Now he has one of the most popular podcasts in the spirituality/conscious lifestyle niche. Each Wednesday, he interviews a different thought leader in spirituality, psychology, art, entrepreneurship, you name it. The rest of the week he shares ideas and developments on a wide range of topics from the down to earth to the ethereal.
If you’ve read The Happiness Project, you are familiar with Gretchen Rubin. In this podcast, Gretchen and her sister, Elizabeth, offer practical, manageable advice about how to create and cultivate happiness and positive habits. Their advice is geared towards making small changes in order to eventually combat any larger issues such as clutter and procrastination.
Tsh is a big fan of simple living, but not just getting rid of stuff. She’s about living holistically with your life’s purpose. The Blissful Mind writes that The Simple Show offers conversations on passion, projects, and living simply, and there are heaps of advice for adding a little more minimalism into your life. Though not the typical topics you might expect from a minimalist podcast, Tsh always asks her guests what it looks like to them to live simpler, whether it’s to do with food, travel, writing, parenting, or fashion.
In today’s stressful world, it is critical to expose yourself to positivity. Pop your earbuds in and go for a brisk walk while listening to one of these podcasts. Between the exercise and the positive podcast, you’ll have a more positive outlook in no time!
